It’s always sad to see your favorite company call it quits and you can’t do anything about it. Lexar’s parent company Micron has annouced that they are discontinuing entire removable storage retail business.
“The decision was made as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to focus on its increasing opportunities in higher value markets and channels,” Micron mentioned on its blog.

The company discontinued memory cards along with other products from the brand which includes USB flash drivers, memory card readers, and storage drives.
Although there is a chance that the parent company might sell off the brand name. Maybe in future we can see it’s resurrection if a deal sorts out.
According to sources, the ongoing rise of demand for flash memory from big companies might have triggered the decision.
