Whale Valley : This short film will break you down!

Recently Vimeo’s Staff Picks featured Whale Valley. The short film released back in 2013. The film premiered in the Official Competition of the 66th Cannes Film Festival 2013 where it won a Special Mention. Since then it won over 50 international awards and received numerous nominations. The short film is written & directed by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson. The feature revolves around the strong bond of two brothers who live with their family in a remote place. Even if you don’t have a sibling and can’t relate to it, emotions will still collapse down your eyes. In conclusion, it’s an amazing feature shot and edited brilliantly. The narrative approach with such minimalistic sound proved amazing for the film.

Synopsis of Whale Valley:

The film shows a strong bond between two brothers that live in a remote fjord with their parents. We look into their world through the eyes of the younger brother and follow him on a journey that marks a turning point in the lives of the brothers.
