SONY launches two new action cameras!

Sony has announced two new live action cameras and thus expanding its expansion in the action camera product line as well. The feature which is drawing attention is the Sony FDR-X3000 and HDR-AS300 are both equipped with advanced image stabilisation. Sony highlights the big talking point of the new action cameras to be the image stabilisation feature called Balanced Optical SteadyShot (B.O.SS). The camera and the lens are fused in a way that they move together for a more smooth result. Sony believes that footage shot on the FDR-X3000 and HDR-AS300 will be smooth whether they are shot while you are running or cycling or even if shot handheld. There’s an additional underwater housing bundled with the cameras which can keep the camera waterproof for 60 metres.

Sony also launched new live remote line which will function like viewfinder while capturing the footage. Its much more compact and portable as compared to old models. Sony is also bundling a watch strap to enable wearing it on the wrist. You can find more details on the company’s official site.

Comparison Video between X3000 and AS300

The cameras look promising and I think we will eventually compare them with Go Pro cameras in terms of its video quality. But it’s too soon to decide and these cameras fit in some people;s budget for action camera and hence might gain attention. The cameras will release in late September and hope they will be available in India as well soon.
